Back Neck and Shoulder Massage in Zurich
Our back neck and shoulder massage is ideal for people who spend many hours at a computer and develop tight shoulders, stiff neck muscles and tension in the upper back. This targeted therapy is one of the most effective ways to release deep muscular stress and provide fast relief.
During the session, you will feel how the tension between your shoulder blades, neck and chest gradually dissolves into a light and mobile feeling. Our therapists work through all connected muscle groups and the fascia (connective tissue) around your spine to create a deeply relaxing back & neck massage experience.
For customers in Zurich, this treatment is often booked as a stress-relief back massage in Zurich, helping to reduce tightness from office work, poor posture and everyday strain. You may also notice improved posture and reduced headaches after the massage — a natural result of releasing blocked fascia and accumulated tension.
Many guests describe the massage as a relaxing back and neck massage in Zurich, because it combines precise therapeutic pressure with a soothing, calming effect on the whole body.
Why our Back & Neck Massage works so well
Our back and neck massage in Zurich combines traditional Thai techniques with modern, precise grips for the upper back, neck and shoulders.
This treatment works both relaxing and therapeutically — ideal for tension that has built up over a longer period of time.
argeted treatment for neck, shoulder and upper back tension
We work directly on the muscle groups that typically cause pain — from hardened trigger points to deep-seated tension around the shoulder blades, neck and upper spine. This focused approach releases tightness quickly and restores mobility, especially for people who sit long hours at a computer.
Combination of Thai techniques and pressure-point massage
Gentle stretches, pressure-point techniques and slow, controlled movements dissolve blockages, improve blood circulation and relax the connective tissue (fascia) around your spine. This creates a light, mobile and deeply calming back & neck massage experience.
Noticeable relief after just one session
Many clients report a feeling of lightness in the neck and shoulders after the very first session — often with fewer tension headaches, better posture and less everyday stress. This natural relief comes from releasing blocked fascia and accumulated tightness.
Who is this massage ideal for?
Our back and neck massage in Zurich is ideal for anyone who experiences tension or strain in the upper back, neck or shoulders. It is especially helpful for:
Neck and shoulder tension
When your neck feels stiff, your shoulders hurt or your range of motion is limited — whether from long hours of sitting, poor posture or stress — this massage provides fast and targeted relief.
Headaches, stress & computer work
Many clients with office jobs, home office routines or long screen time benefit from noticeable relaxation in the head, neck and upper back. The massage helps reduce stress, ease posture-related tightness and improve overall comfort during everyday work.
One-sided strain or physical overuse
After training, physical work or repetitive movements, the massage helps relax tight muscles and improve mobility in the entire neck and shoulder area.
Massage Process
Our therapists speak simple English, so it helps if you mention important notes or wishes during your online booking (e.g. “neck”, “shoulders”, “stress”, “tension”, “upper back”, “head area”).
At the studio, you can also use short words, pointing or simple gestures to show which areas feel sensitive or need extra attention.
The more we know about where the tension pulls, presses or feels tight, the better we can tailor your back & neck massage to your needs.
Important:
We do not diagnose or replace medical treatment.
Please inform us if you have a recent injury, accident, surgery, strong inflammation or acute spinal problems.
In such cases we will adjust the massage — or recommend postponing the session if necessary.
The main part of the treatment focuses on tight muscles along the cervical spine, the upper back and the shoulder area.
Using a combination of pressure-point massage, slow strokes, circular techniques and gentle stretching, we dissolve blockages and improve blood circulation.
This helps reduce stiffness and restore mobility in the neck and shoulder region.
To end the session, we release the muscles with soft stretches, deeper strokes around the shoulder blades and a calming finish that makes the entire area feel lighter and more open.
Many clients feel noticeably more mobility and less pressure in the neck immediately after the session.
Extra Strong
...when you really need deep pressure. You need noticeably more pressure – for example, due to high muscle tone or an athletic build? Our “extra strong” option allows for a deeper, more intense treatment – but it also requires significantly more physical effort from us!

Massage Oil - Selection
At all our massage sessions, we use Paraffinum Liquidum as our standard oil – a medically pure, neutral oil with a pleasant consistency: not too thin, not too thick, just right for deep relaxation.
This oil has proven itself for over 10 years and is particularly skin-friendly – we have never experienced any allergic reactions to it.
At the end of the massage, any excess oil is gently removed with towels. A delicate, nurturing film remains on the skin – leaving it feeling silky smooth.
(Note: Shower facilities are not available – see FAQ.)
Our aromatic oils are based on a neutral paraffinum liquidum base oil with an ideal viscosity. For aromatherapy, they are enriched with carefully selected essential oils – for a particularly sensual and deeply effective massage.
Available scents:
Lavender – calming
Orange – invigorating
Rose – balancing
Lemongrass – refreshing
👉 You can easily choose your preferred scent on site.
For particularly sensitive skin or simply as a natural luxury, you can also choose 100% organic coconut oil.
It is purely plant-based, pleasantly scented, and has skin-caring, anti-inflammatory, and regenerating properties – ideal for dry skin or after sun exposure.
A touch of tropical feeling – gentle and effective.
Thai Herbs Balm - Effectively Applied
... based on time-honored recipes made from herbs, essential oils, and plant extracts. These balms create either a warming or cooling sensation, promote blood circulation, and provide targeted relief for muscle tension, joint discomfort, or tight fascia.
Depending on the specific treatment, different variants are used – for example, invigorating menthol or soothing camphor. The balm is especially effective during intensive back massages, shoulder/neck treatments, or foot reflexology sessions.
We use only certified products from reputable Thai manufacturers, such as the well-known balms from Wang Prom. These balms contain no animal ingredients and are intended for external use only.

Questions & Answers
Is a back neck and shoulder massage helpful for slipped discs ?
A slipped disc, also known as a herniated disc, is usually caused by age-related wear and tear of the spine, but it can also occur after an injury. In many cases, the symptoms people feel — such as tension, stiffness or radiating discomfort — are not caused by the disc itself, but by surrounding muscle tension.
To assess whether a back neck and shoulder massage or a traditional Thai massage (yoga style) can be beneficial, keep the following recommendations in mind:
- If you are receiving medical treatment, ask your doctor whether massage is appropriate and what precautions should be taken.
- After an accident, always go to your doctor first to ensure your spine has not been seriously injured.
- Seek urgent medical attention if you experience:
- very severe, burning or pulling back pain
- numbness or tingling in arms or hands
- dizziness or coordination problems
- reflex disorders
- muscle weakness or signs of paralysis
- loss of bladder or bowel control (emergency)
However, up to 80% of cases are not acute and can safely be treated by us.
Often the discomfort comes from tense muscles, protective posture or stress around the spine. In these situations, massage can help relieve tension and improve mobility. Please let us know which movements cause pain and in which region the discomfort occurs — this allows us to adapt the massage therapy individually.
Important: We can release muscle tension and provide pain relief, but we cannot cure a slipped disc itself. We can, however, offer very good supportive care with targeted back and neck massage techniques.
Visiting us 2–3 times at intervals of one week is often helpful. Many cases improve naturally over time, especially when supported by gentle massage, better posture and avoiding heavy lifting or awkward movements.
Which complaints can be treated ?

- indispostion, moderate feeling of illness
- muscular tension and stiffness
- headache and neck pain
- back pain (many problems of the spine are diminished by Thai-Massage)
- lack of energy, lethargy
